Student Enrichment
Community Service – Organize school-wide projects such as coat collection and food drive. Cultural Enrichment – Plan and run a variety of cultural programs for all grade levels. Get Smart About Art – Organize in-class art appreciation presentations and activities for grade K-4 at PRS in spring.
Green Committee – Support “reduce, re-use, recycle” education and activities including school beautification and PRS garden; promotes sustainable practices at PRS and home. Mad About Science Book Club – Run science book club for students and families.
Math Olympics – Grade papers and track student progress as well as plan math activities. Steam Week - Help plan and coordinate special STEAM-related event to take place at PRS in October.
Voyagers - Coordinate and organize after-school Voyagers program for fall, winter and spring (includes finding PRS teachers or outside educators to do suggested course). 4th Grade Science Olympics – Organize hands-on science day for 4th grade in the spring.
School Community
5K Road Race – Organize 5K run/walk for PRS students, families, staff and community in the fall. Field Day – Plan and run daylong event for grades K-4 at end of school year. Includes games, dancing, cookout, etc.
New Families – Welcome new families (Kindergarten and in general) joining the PRS community (could entail welcome event in August and other activities committee decides); help administer PRS information to families.
School Spirit – Run spirit events throughout the year (incl. Halloween Boo Bash, bingo night, holiday shopping spree).

Book Fair – Coordinate school books fairs.
Fall Fundraiser – Oversee fall annual fund campaign.
PRS Shops! – Organize fundraising opportunities from retailers (Box Tops For Education, Target, Amazon, and local grocery stores); plan Nona's Night (end of Feb/early March).
Spring Social - Plan and run a Spring fundraising social event for parents (past events included auction, comedy night, dinner, dancing, games, raffle).
5th Grade
Activities – Organize social and community-service events/activities, as well as fundraising. Also organize year-end activities (Class Splash, graduation).
Yearbook – Oversees production of yearbook.
Public Relations
Directory - Publishes the PRS directory at the beginning of the school year. METCO Liaison - Serve as PRS liaison to Hingham Public School's METCO program. Newsletter Chair - Produce PRS "Weekly Wizard" newsletter.
PRS Spirit Wear - Organize 1-2 events for PRS families to purchase PRS gear throughout the school year.
PTO Website Chair - Maintain content and links on PRS-PTO website.
SEPAC Liaison - Serve as PRS liaison to Hingham Special Education Advisory Council.
Teacher and School Support
Playground/Outdoor PRS - Oversee playground purchases for both PRS playgrounds (working with town on implementation and ADA requirements) and any updates on grounds used by students.
PRS Book Club – Coordinate donation requests and birthday book purchases for the library. Room Parent Chair - Coordinate communication between all classroom room parents (including giving guidelines and social media outreach for greater PTO).
Staff Appreciation – Plans staff recognition activities throughout the year including welcome back breakfast, year-end luncheon and holiday treats.

Items we have funded
The PTO funds all of these great events, activities and enrichment programs. This past summer, the PTO funded FM systems for all PRS classrooms, masks for all teachers/staff and students, and purchased office/school supplies for PRS office.
